CLEVELAND- On July 14, 2016, Newel Lynn Nelson with his sweetheart by his side and surrounded by loved ones, peacefully rode off into the sunset.
Lynn was born on Oct. 1, 1944 to Newel H. and Madge Tucker Nelson in Cleveland, Utah. He married his cowgirl sweetheart, Doloris McArthur on Oct. 19, 1964 in Lawrence, Utah.
Being the tough cowboy that he was, he lived and left this world on his terms. Lynn loved driving trucks and he did this to provide a living for his family. Along with his father, and Doyle Allred, he helped run the Nelson and Allred Stock Producers. Remembering the fun rodeo times brings a smile to ones’ face…
Lynn is survived by his wife, Doloris Nelson; daughter, Midge Sherman; son, Shane (Linda) Nelson; daughter, Mindy (Jerry) Birch; six grandchildren, Cole Sherman, Shane Hopkins, Cy (Sheryl) Nelson, Bailey, Jaycee and Shaydon Birch; great-grandson, Caleb Waller; sister, Flora (Richard) Motte; in-laws, Olive McArthur, Celia Oviatt, Dixie (Bill) Allred.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mickey (Cliff) Carter, Berta Nelson; and grandson, Archie Newel Sherman.
Graveside service was held, Monday, July 18, 2016, 10:30 a.m., Cleveland City Cemetery. Family received friends at the Nelson residence (495 West Main) in Cleveland Sunday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and at the graveside Monday ten minutes prior to services. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Lynn online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net. The family would like to give Misty Bigelow and Absolute Compassion a special thank you. Happy trails cowboy- until we meet again….
