"Randy Neldon Sitterud"

By By

Surrounded by his loving family, our sweet husband, dad, brother, friend and hero Randy Neldon Sitterud, 68, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 in Price, Utah. Randy was born on Oct. 28, 1948 in Orangeville, Utah to Neldon and Lola Anderson Sitterud. He married the love of his life and eternal companion, Cathy Huff, on Sept. 28, 1968 in Price, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on Feb. 21, 1981.
Randy spent most of his life living in Emery County. He grew up in Orangeville, graduated from Emery County High School, and attended Carbon College. For the first few years of his career he worked as a heavy equipment operator in St. George and Duchesne, where he also helped with the construction of Starvation Dam. For 29 years, he worked for Savage Brothers as the General Manager of Western Coal Carrier where he was affectionately known by the nickname ‘Little Boss’. Randy enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing, and camping, and most of all loved to be surrounded by his family. He also enjoyed spending any time he could with his sweetheart, Cathy, going to monthly friend’s dinners, movies at the theater, or staying in and watching the latest Hallmark movie. Randy was a quiet man, often saying that he never learned a thing with his mouth open. But he also had the ability to leave us laughing with his quick wit and humor.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he held various callings, including serving eight years in the Manti temple with his wife, Cathy. He loved his work in the Baptistry. No matter what medical trials afflicted him, Randy was faithful to the end. 2 Timothy 4:7 ‘I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.’
Randy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cathy Sitterud, five children: Charles (Traci) Chidester, Carrie (Darrell) Willson, April (Nathan) Bingham, Jesse (McKette) Sitterud and Caleb (Christine) Sitterud, 24 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Randy is also survived by his father, Neldon, brothers, Kirk (Karen) and Gary (Susan), sisters Debra (Rick) Larsen and Lesa (Wade) Gordon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Sitterud.
A viewing for all family and friends was held on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at the 8th North LDS Chapel, 165 West 800 North, Castle Dale, Utah. Funeral services were held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the same location with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment, Orangeville City Cemetery. Services under the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Randy at www.fausettmortuary.com.
