On Dec. 7 four board members of the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments spent the last few minutes of the final board meeting of the year getting congratulations from other board members and the SEUALG staff as they said goodbye to everyone.
Retiring from the board at the end of this year are Price Mayor Joe Piccolo (12 years), Huntington Mayor Hilary Gordon (eight years), Moab Mayor Dave Sakrison (12 years), and Blanding Mayor Calvin Balch (three years). Bruce Adams, the board chairman said a few words about each retiring member as he handed out plaques to them commemorating their service.
The empty seats will be filled by new incoming mayor members in January and those individuals will be installed at the first board meeting of the year in Moab on January 25, 2018.
The SEUALG Board is comprised of a mayor and county commissioner from each of the association’s member counties. The SEUALG board is the primary governing board for the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments. SEUALG offers services to the counties in various ways including aging services, the HEAT program, the Revolving Loan Fund, as well as many others.
