“Jim”
GREEN RIVER- James Dean Seager, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday Feb. 23, 2018, from cause incident to age. He was born in Wellington, Utah on August 13, 1930 to William Glen and Eliza Ann Rust Seager. Married Beth Humes on Dec. 24, 1955; they were later sealed in the Manti Temple.
Jim was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy 1950-1954. Jim was a hard worker and could fix anything. He loved old cars, his large garden, guns, hunting, the Utah Jazz, and old western movies.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his favorite calling was sacrament meeting greeter. Jim worked at the missile base in Green River, at the uranium mines, as a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, truck mechanic, and for the Utah State Road.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gilbert, Walter and Glenn; sisters, Helen, Iris and Opal.
Jim is survived by his wife, Beth; children, Diane Taylor (Andy), Carene Maughan (Terry), Kim Chadwick (John), Terry Seager, Tara Brumble (Mathew); 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral service, Friday, March 2, 2018, 11 a.m. at the Green River LDS Ward. Family will receive friends Friday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment with military honors, Elgin Cemetery, Green River, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Jim online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
