Hunter Wilson is a boy scout from Riverton. His grandparents live in Emery County and he decided to do something in Emery County for his Eagle Scout project. “I know there are a lot of scout projects up in the city where I’m from, but I wanted to do something for this rural area because I know there aren’t as many projects down here.
“I decided to start collecting blankets to give to the ambulance service down here. My grandpa Boyd is an EMT and works on the ambulance.
“I’ve collected more than 200 blankets and they can be used to give to those people riding on the ambulance. Especially the children who may be afraid if they’ve been in an accident.
“My family and my scout troop helped me gather blankets. I would also like to thank Laneea Cowley who was the city council person over the Huntington youth council. They also helped gather the blankets. It feels good to know I am helping other people.
“It’s a weight off my shoulders to get this Eagle Project complete. I would also like to thank my parents for their help, Cacey and Lindsay Wilson and Adriana Wilson and Terry Edwards and my grandparents Boyd and Jackie Wilson and Lannie and Glenys Sitterud.”
Stoney Jensen and Hollie Smith accepted the blankets on behalf of the Emery County Ambulance Service and EMTs. They will stock their ambulances with the comfort blankets.
Jensen said, “We really appreciate your efforts. We will use them on our ambulances. Thank you.”
