It was a beautiful night at Huntington Lake State Park as the group Reach Up met for the first annual Suicide Awareness walk.
The group meets each Tuesday night for support for those who need help or wish to help others who are struggling. The meeting place is the Castle Dale Senior Citizen center at 5:30 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend. The group is for anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts, those who have lost loved ones to suicide, or just anyone who needs a friend to listen.
The Out of Darkness event featured a hot dog dinner provided by Nielson Construction, hot dogs donated by Stewarts Market, drinks provided by Pepsi and the dessert provided by the Emery County Progress. Thanks to contributors: Diane Procarione, Bruce and Ted Ann Funk and Monica Eley for their support.
The group had dinner then walked around the Huntington Lake State Park trail. The State Parks donated the use of the Huntington State Park for the event. Special thanks to Jonathan Hunt park manager.
Reach up was started by the Emery County Sheriff’s Office and Emery County Progress to give a voice to those who struggle. Reach up is a member of the National Federation of Suicide Prevention.
