The Class of 1958 of North Emery High School met to celebrate their 60th Year Reunion.
Some met on Friday, some on Saturday, and several both days. The late luncheon times gave extra time for visiting and traveling.
Jimmy Gordon and staff of the Ponderosa Café in Huntington, made sure everyone enjoyed their meals of choice, and prepared special desserts for the occasion also.
Everyone enjoyed looking through the old year books, and at old photos and items that were brought to bring back memories of the happy high school years and the reunion times that were held almost every five years since.
Sue Kirby Jones, Class Secretary, was one of the planning committee who helped contact, inform and invite classmates.
Raymond Hansen, Class President, traveled over 700 miles from his home in Arizona to welcome everyone who could attend.
He enjoyed staying over and seeing relatives and more friends in several areas of Utah while here.
Student Body President for 1957-58, Faye Leamaster Brown of Kalispell, Montana, drove 800 miles to visit her brother, “Fon” so all the classmates were so happy that happened to be the same weekend as the 60th reunion.
Of the 46 who were in the class, the names of those “no longer with us” was read and remembered that now numbers 22, two were lost in the same week prior to the reunion.
There were many who called, some who hoped to attend, and only four who couldn’t be reached.
Those who attended (14 classmates plus some spouses and visitors) enjoyed the visits and went home with happy memories and smiles.
Perhaps we will do it again in September.
