Green River baseball begins in the heat of the summer. For 1A schools baseball is in the fall due to not having enough students to field football teams in most cases. Green River baseball is always competitive in their ranks.
They hosted two games last week on Tuesday and Thursday. On Thursday the Valley Buffaloes came to town and defeated the Pirates. The Pirates started hitting early, but then stalled out as the Buffaloes came alive at the bats and didn’t look back. A seventh inning rally by the Pirates raised hopes but the home team couldn’t string together the hits to get the loaded bases across home plate. Final score was Pirates 4 and Buffaloes 12.
