At approximately 1 p.m. today a call came in reporting a fire ablaze in the Earl’s Trailer Park in Huntington.
The fire was reported by the neighbor next to the trailer on fire. This trailer court is just around the corner from the Huntington Fire Station so firefighters arrived very quickly to the scene.
Portions of the inside of the trailer were destroyed. The windows were broken out to allow access to the firemen to fight the fire. Some of the siding on the outside of the trailer was melted.
The trailer appeared to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The firefighters put out the blaze and then continued to work on the hot spots.
The resident at the trailer was not at home at the time the fire started.
No one was injured in the fire. The next door neighbor was worried about their home due to its proximity to the trailer that was on fire. A large tree next to the trailer that caught on fire also started to burn causing concern the fire might spread. The firefighters extinguished the blaze in the tree to stop the spread of the fire.
