SUNNYSIDE – Sherilyn ‘Sheri’ Turner Van Otten, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 16, 2018.  She was born on Oct. 17th, 1943 in Price, Utah to Wade F. Turner and Catherine Evans.

Sheri was a great Mom, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. She loved her daughter, son-in-law, family and friends with all her heart. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many callings. She was employed at the BLM at the time of her passing and had been there for 35 years. She was a long time resident of Sunnyside and enjoyed living there.

Sheri loved her fur babies, both her dogs and cats; she loved crocheting, bowling, playing card and board games, Yellowstone vacations, and Wendover trips. She loved the summer time and enjoyed planting and taking care of her flowers. She was an avid John Wayne fan and loved collecting anything to do with him. Sheri loved the Holidays and looked forward to shopping and decorating for them. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, son-in-law, family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter: Yvette (Anthony) Hurtado, East Carbon, Utah; brothers and sisters: Kenneth (Sandy) Turner, Prescott, Ariz., Doreen (Don) Guymon, Roosevelt, Utah, Ernest (Janna) Monson, Wellington, Utah, Pam (Dean) Simpson, Fruita, Colo.; she is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents: Wade F. Turner and Catherine Monson; stepdad, Ernest ‘Bud’ Monson; sister-in-law, Dawn Turner; nephew, Devin Guymon and her grandparents.

Funeral service, Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the East Carbon LDS Church (145 Grassy Trail Drive) East Carbon, Utah. Family will receive friends Friday evening at Mitchell Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
