Democrat Convention
The Emery County Democrat Convention will be held April 28 at 6 p.m. at the Museum of the San Rafael, 96 North 100 East, Castle Dale.
Republican Convention
The Emery County Republican Convention will be held on April 5 at the Emery County Recreation Center, 75 South 400 East in Castle Dale. The doors will open at 6 p.m. to ask questions of candidates. The convention will begin at 7 p.m. There is no charge.
Easter Sun Rise
Easter sun rise worship service will be held at Desert Edge Christian Chapel, 500 South Main, Huntington at 6:45 a.m. on April 16. Everyone is welcome.
Miss Castle Dale
The Miss Castle Dale Pageant will be held June 2 at the Emery High Auditorium at 7 p.m. Applications are now being taken from ages 5-21. Queens and runner-ups will receive cash prizes. Miss Castle Dale will have the opportunity to be sponsored in the Miss Emery County Pageant. Applications may be obtained at the Castle Dale City Hall. Deadline is May 5. Emery All-Star Cheerleading

Wrestling Sponsors
The Emery High wrestling team is looking for sponsors for their wrestling team. Attending tournaments throughout the year is expensive but necessary to add to the strength of the team. All sponsors will be recognized during wrestling meets at Emery High.
Easter Egg Hunt
The Cleveland Elmo Youth Town Councils will sponsor this year’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8 at noon. All preschool and elementary age children are welcome to meet in front of the Cleveland Town Hall. So bring your baskets and don’t miss the fun in Cleveland. Emery County girls softball sign-ups will be held March 30 for girls ages 8-18. 4-H Family Photos
Emery County 4-H is offering family photos at the Emery County courthouse April 7-9 in court room B. To make an appointment for your family call the Extension Office at 381-2381. This fundraiser supports the 4-H in Emery County.
Veterans of Foreign Wars
A field service officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be at the Price Workforce Service Center on April 20 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. This is a free service to assist veterans, widows and dependents in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits.
Emery County Gun Club
The March and April schedule for the Emery County Gun Club is: March 31-buddy shoots at 7 p.m.; April 8-50 bird handicap at 1 p.m.; April 14-buddy shoots at 7 p.m.; April 22-50 bird handicap at 1 p.m.; and April 28-buddy shoots at 7 p.m. Come out and shoot under the lights every other Friday night.

Archaeology Camp and Field School

Dinosaur Paleontology Camp
A Dinosaur Paleontology Camp will be held on June 19-23 at the CEU Bone Preparation Lab and Price River Quarry Site. The workshop is designed for incoming 10 through 12 grage high school students. Studnets have to have a 3.0 grade point average or a letter of recommendation from a science instructor. The cost is $200.

Cooking Class
Emery County commodities cooking classes will be held on April 12, May 10 and June 14 at the Emery County Food Bank and Clothing Exchange (40 South Center, Castle Dale). They will be held from 10 a.m.- 12 noon.
Diabetes Class

Juanita Varela Childs Scholarship
A scholarship is being set up in the name of Juanita Varela Childs, who was killed in a tragic car accident. At the time of her death, she was a teacher at Carbon High School. Local Veterans Employment Representative
A local veterans employment representative visits the Castle Dale DWS Office the first Wednesday of each month. Appointments can also be arranged on other days by contacting Steve Wilkinson (LVER) at (435) 636-2343. The LVER is also available Monday through Friday at Department of Workforce Services, 475 West Price River Drive, for questions about VA benefits, assistance with VA applications, employment assistance and other veterans issues. BLM Seeks Nominatioins for Utah’s RAC
Utah residents interested in the management and conservation of public lands have an opportunity to become directly involved through participation on the BLM Utah RAC. Council members rpovide advice and recommendations to the BLM concerning the use and management of 22 million acres of public land in Utah. Nominations are being accepted for five positions on the RAC. Those positions are: one commodity; three non-commodity; and one local area interest. Miss Emery Seeks Contestants
The Miss Emery Pageant will be held on July 15 at 7 p.m. The pageant committee is seeking those girls who would like to participate in the pageant.
You can be a junior in high school through 24 years of age. Contestants will participate in swimwear, talent, evening gown and onstage question.
