Citizen’s Day at the Legislature

By By

Utah citizens can meet and have lunch with their State Senators and House Representatives at the 2007 Citizen’s Day at the Legislature. This free conference sponsored by Utah Issues: The Center for Eliminating Poverty will also present speakers on openness in state government, closed caucuses, and controversial pending legislative issues.
Citizens’ Day at the Legislature has been a Utah tradition for more than 25 years and provides a unique opportunity for citizens to become involved in the legislative process and discuss their concerns with their elected leaders.
Keynote speakers will be Pete Ashdown, former U.S. Senate candidate and CEO of X-mission and Dr. Robert Huefner, Professor Emeritus in political science at the University of Utah. Other speakers will include Utah legislators and experts in health, homelessness and taxation issues before the legislature.
It will be held on Feb. 16 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Utah State Office Building Auditorim. You can go to www.utahissues.net for more information.
