Letter to the Editor: Repeal the War Powers Act

By KEN ENGLISH Green River

Editor,
Every congressman and senator, before you waste your vote, you should be asked if you are in favor of repealing the War Powers Act. This act was a temporary measure and should have been done away with in the year 1946.
No congressman can gripe until they do away with this emergency act which gives the administrative branch of government the power to go to war, but like I said, it should have been repealed after World War II.
We now have a war every time we elect a new president.
Now that we are in this war, it must be won. If we had elected John, we would be in a war with Venezuela over catsup factories.
