The Canyon View High School tennis team traveled to Emery High for a tennis match on Aug. 22. They brought along with them a gift of flowers and a donation for the trapped miners families. They held a bake sale in Cedar City and raised $1,400 which they presented to Emery High principal Gwen Callahan. Karen Marchant the girls tennis coach made the presentation while the entire tennis teams from Emery and Canyon View cheered. Callahan expressed her appreciation for the donation. She said the students at the school have been deeply affected by the tragedy at the Crandall Canyon coal mine.
