Letter to the Editor: Environmental misinformation

By PAUL YOUNG St. George

Editor,
Consistently in the printed word from our state daily newspapers and the spoken words from our TV newscasters, they are expressing their long diatribes coming from the extreme, radical environmentalists. They give us distorted facts about pollutants coming from coal fired steam generating power plants.
Before you accept their word as gospel truths, pick up your telephone and call any home owner living in Helper or Price, Utah. Ask them if they have or at present suffer from any pollutants coming from the two unit coal fired steam generating Carbon Power Plant. The plant is located just two miles north of Helper and 13 miles north of Price.
Call anyone living in Orangeville, Castle Dale, Ferron or Emery and ask them the same question. The Huntington Power Plant has two large power units and the Hunter Power Plant has three larger power units and are all coal fired steam generating electrical power plants. They are located within 15 miles from these four rural communities.
Do not be sidetracked by these tall tales being belched from the mouths of those in the environmental community. Learn about the truth and it shall set you free.
