Brandon White
PRICE-Our “Little Slugger” Brandon James White, age 10, passed away June 6, 2007 while doing what he enjoyed.
He was born Sept. 17, 1996 in Roseville, Calif. to Anthony Richard and Juliet Sanchez White.
Brandon was a student at Creekview Elementary where he was a fun loving, energetic and free spirited boy who was noted as an outstanding runner for his school. He enjoyed sports and was a member of the Carbon WBBA Little League Baseball where he was # 15 for the minor league Indians.
Although his parting was sudden, Brandon’s memory will always be held in the highest esteem by his teammates, coaches and members of the Carbon WBBA.
Brandon enjoyed the outdoors, building paper airplanes and he was everybody’s best friend.

Survived by his mother, Juliet White, Price; father, Anthony White, Thornton, Colo.; brother and sisters, Michael White; Anna Sanchez White; Esperanza Martinez, all of Price; grandparents, Dora and Henry Smith, Price; Sylvia White, Porterville, Calif.; great- grandparents, Ramona (Dan) Valdez, Price; and many other loving family members, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brandon was preceded in death by his grandpas Don Sanchez and Paul White; and cousin, Genevive.
Funeral Mass, Mon., June 11, 2007, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m., with an evening prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home.
Margaret L. Magnuson
On June 13, 2007, after 92 years of valiant service, Margaret went to a glorious reunion with a large family gone on before. She died peacefully at home surrounded by a family she loved and was cherished in return. She was born Nov. 7, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Henry Lucas and Ellen Aldous. She was raised in Salt Lake and the Uinitah Basin.
She married Edward Dean Cox on Nov. 21, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Castle Dale in 1936. They had four children. Dean was killed June 27, 1945 while serving in WWII. On March 30, 1948 she married Bruce Magnuson. They had four children and raised Bruce’s brothers and sister Jack, Gary and Elda.
Margaret served as Castle Dale City Recorder for 44 years and in the Emery County Treasurer’s Office for 12 years, eight as treasurer. She was also active in the LDS church and served faithfully in many callings.
She is survived by her children Richard (Hazel) Cox, Emery, John (Tawna) Magnuson, Helper, and Kathy (Norman) Vuksinick, Castle Dale, 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by both husbands, her brother and sister, five children, MarDean Cox (James) Riley, Kent Cox, Sharon Cox (Lyle) Fox, Ellen Faye Magnuson and infant daughter Magnuson and one grandson Kelly James Riley.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Jed, Saralee, and Ashley from CNS for their special care in the last few months and all her friends and family who helped in any way.
Services were held Monday, June 18 at 1 p.m. in the Castle Dale Stake Center. Viewing was held June 17, from 6-8 p.m. at Fausetts Mortuary in Castle Dale, and one hour prior to services in the stake center.
Ima A. Morgan
Ima Adeline Quimby Morgan, 87, passed away June 12, 2007 in Ferron, Utah.� She was born to John Oliver and Cordelia Claire Willis Quimby on May 3, 1920 at Montesano, Wash.� She was the third child in a family of five children; brother – Forest Garland, sisters – Velma Marie, Helen Claire, and Charlotte Alberta.� She lived her early years in Montesano and attended school there.
She married Raphael W. Monosso on Aug. 20, 1934 in Shelton, Wash.� He was killed in action on March 7, 1945 in the Philippines while serving in the military in WWII.� They were the parents of four children – daughter Cleo LoRenda, sons Dale Oliver, Richard William, and James Leonard.
She married David Wallace Morgan on Oct. 17, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah.� They were endowed and sealed for eternity in the Manti Utah temple of Aug. 1, 1978.
Wallace moved Ima and her family to Ophir, Utah in 1946.� They became the parents of Elaine Claire, David Wallace, Nora Sue, Ima Jean, Richard William, and Sherry Ann.They lived in Ophir, Tooele, and eventually moving to Ferron, Utah on July 2, 1971.�While living in Tooele she was employed at the Tooele Valley Nursing Home.
She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Nov. 1, 1947 while living in Ophir.� She held many callings in the Church. She also spent many hours and years researching genealogy and doing temple work for her ancestors and relatives. In 1982 she was called to serve a mission in Mesa, Ariz.�She served from Sept. 1982 to May 1983.
Ima liked to be outdoors.� Her favorite times were spent fishing and camping and horseback riding. She also liked to embroider. Many friends and relatives were recipients of embroidered kitchen towels and pillowcases.
She liked to travel and sight-see and did so quite often traveling throughout the United States, Germany and a tour that went to Australia. She also liked to read. Her favorite stories were western stories written by Louis L’Amour. She liked seafood because it reminded her of her early years in Washington. Her favorite candy was divinity.
She was preceded in death by husbands Raphael and Wallace, daughter Cleo Hunt, sons Dale Oliver Monosso and Richard William Monosso, brother Forest Quimby, sister Helen Quimby Pierce and four grandchildren.
She is survived by sons – James Leonard (Patricia) Monosso, David Wallace (Cheryl) Morgan, Richard William (Helen) Morgan, daughters – Elaine Crouse, Nora Sue (Jerry) Judd, Ima Jean (Shawn) Tomsich, Sherry Ann (Scott) Ford, sisters – Velma Marie Hoffine, Charlotte (Reid) Murray and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A special thanks is given to Rocky Mountain Hospice, Sandra Jensen, Jesse Wilcox, Pam Marsing, Rick Stockburger, and Emery County Care and Rehabilitation Center administration and nurses.
Funeral services were held Sat. June 16 at 2 p.m. at the Millsite Ward Chapel, 35 North 200 West in Ferron, Utah. Viewing was at the Millsite chapel from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Interment was in the Ferron City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Dorothy Childs Olsen
FERRON -Dorothy Childs Olsen, age 85, died June 15, 2007 in Provo, Utah. She was born Oct. 25, 1921 in Orangeville, Utah to Joseph Ernest Childs and Cathryn (Kate) Dorthea Petersen. She married Lowry Grant Olsen on Aug. 23, 1939 in Orangeville. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 4, 1958.
Family was very important to Dorothy. She liked to go camping, fishing, and bowling and was very involved in 4-H. She did a lot of handiwork, especially knitting.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held various positions in the church. Her faith was very important to her.
Dorothy was a very loving and thoughtful person throughout her life. She always thought of others and not herself. She was always known for her sweet and loving personality and sense of humor.
The love of her life was her husband, Lowry, who took care of her the last few years of her life. They were married for 67 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Aldo Childs, Adrian Childs, Delbert Childs, Richard Childs, Rex Childs, Max Childs, Parker Childs; sisters, Alta Childs and Elouise Moffitt.
She is survived by her husband, Lowry; daughters, Della (Duane) Marble of Corinne, Utah and Pauline (Roy) Wood of Delta, Utah; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wed., June 20, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Millsite Ward Chapel – 35 West 200 North, Ferron, Utah. A viewing will be held Tues. June 19, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, and also one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Ferron City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
LaNelda Brown Colette
On June 10, 2007, LaNelda Rae Brown Colette was once again united with her eternal companion.
She was born Aug. 23, 1931 to Vernon and Rhoda Williams Brown in Koosharem, Utah. She married the love of her life, Frank Edward Colette, Oct. 10, 1949 in Sunnyside, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They were a spectacular couple. Frank died May 29, 1993.
LaNelda was a devoted member of the LDS Church, working in the Manti Temple. She was famous for her cooking and was an expert seamstress. She was never happier than when she was entertaining and cooking. LaNelda was a superb wife, mother, homemaker and grandmother. She and her husband made their home in Dragerton and Columbia, Utah; Carlsbad, N.M..; Oakland, Md.; St. Clairsville, Ohio; Terre Haute, Ind.; Hazard, Ky.; Evansville, Ind.; and finally settled for good in Castle Dale, Utah. She is survived by her children: Diana (Doug) Litster of Salt Lake City; Debbie (Ritchie) Hibbert of La Grande, Ore.; Perry (Jackie) Colette of Pleasant Grove; and Tab (Cynthia) Colette of Ivins. She is also survived by her sisters: Ella Dean Hunter of East Carbon; Janice (Denny) Sereano of Knoxville, Tenn.; Mary (Tom) Boatwright of Washington; her brothers: DeLoss (Barbara) Brown of Carlsbad, N.M.; and Lonnie (Diane) Brown of Layton; and her sisters-in-law Marcy Boss of Delta, Colo.; and Phyllis Colette of Paonia, Colo. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sat. June 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Castle Dale Stake Center. A viewing was held prior to the services at 9 a.m. Interment was at the Castle Dale Cemetery. Arrangements for floral deliveries were made through Price Floral.
FReggie Jones
PRICE-Our beloved son, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Reggie Lyndon Jones, earned his wings and returned home on June 12, 2007 with his loving children by his side.
He was born Oct. 18, 1954 in Price, Utah to Lynn W. and Fern Lenore Hunsaker Jones.
Married the love of his life, Lori Lukich, Oct. 11, 1979; later divorced.
Reggie loved spending time with his family and friends, especially rock hunting, fishing, riding Harley Davidsons and just being free. He will be truly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survived by his son, Josh (Kisty) Jones, of Price; daughters, Sharlynne (Trent Bright), of Wellington, Sabrina Jones, of Price, Elizabeth Sears-Griffin (Pat) of Woods Cross; eight loving grandchildren; mother, Fern Jones-Mecham, East Carbon; brothers and sisters, LaRell (Carol) Jones, East Carbon; Myrna (Ben) Mead, Wellington; RaVenna (Hal) Firth, Soldier Summit; Randy Jones, Wellington; Kyle Jones, Soldier Summit; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family member and numerous friends.
Preceded in death by his, father Lynn W. Jones; step-father, Klell Mecham; and brother Joseph.
Memorial service was held Sat., June 16, 2007, 4 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family gathered at Mitchell’s Saturday one half hour prior to service.
Berlinda C. Grako
PRICE-Berlinda Constance Grako, age 88, passed away in Price, Utah on June 16, 2007 at Castleview Hospital.
She was born on March 3, 1919, to Joseph and Catherine “Clara” Teano Grako.
After graduation from Carbon High School, she received her teaching degree at St. Mary’s of the Wasatch in Salt Lake City. She taught junior high school in Price before moving to Lakeland, Fla. She earned her master’s degree at Columbia University in New York City and started teaching accelerated English in Polk County. She changed to the exceptional child program in 1948. As Directing Teacher of Special Services at Seth McKeel Junior High School, she was the first recipient of the annual Polk County Exceptional Child Teacher of the Year Award.
Berlinda enjoyed spending summers in Price, golfing, and traveling to visit all of her extended family. For the past five years she lived at the Heirloom Inn in Price where she received so much loving care. The family wishes to thank the staff for making her last years so happy and peaceful.
She is survived and will be missed by her sisters, Rita Silvagni Kirby, Peoria, Ariz., Kay Silvagni Quillinan (Bill), Bothel, Wash.; sisters-in-law, Vivian Grako, Price, Rose Grako, Orem; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Tony Silvagni, brothers, Louis and John Grako; and her Florida companions, Marjorie Mitchell and Mabel Caperton.
Memorial Mass, Fri., June 22, 2007, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price, where the family will gather at 9:30 a.m. Vigil service, Thursday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home, where friends are welcome one hour prior to Vigil. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.
