Hazel Henderson
WELLINGTON-Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Hazel Jorgensen Henderson, age 89, returned home June 4, 2007, after a lingering illness.
She was born March 27, 1918 in Giles, Utah to Christian and Anne Giles Jorgensen.
Married Frank Henderson, July 16, 1935 in Price; he died April 23, 1998.
Despite losing her own mother when she was 8 years old, Hazel grew up to be a fun loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She never met a child she didn’t love and she spent hours playing and teaching any little one left in her care.
Hazel was always busy…. homemaking, gardening, riding horses and ranching alongside her husband, but she always knew how to make time for a good visit with family and friends. She was a good listener and loved telling stories and just spending time with the ones she loved.
Survived by her daughter, LaRaine (Von) Johnston, Wellington; sons, Larry (Tracy) Henderson, Exeter, Mo; Wayne (Moreen) Henderson, Myton, Utah; nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, Elizabeth and Ardith; brothers, Chris, Fred, and Henry.
Funeral service was held Sat., June 9, 2007, 10 a.m. Wellington LDS Stake Center where friends called one hour prior to service. A viewing was held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price. Graveside service, Saturday, 3 p.m., Bluebell Cemetery, Bluebell, Utah. Annie Pappas
PRICE-Our loving mother, grandmother, sister and beloved friend, Annie Nucich Pappas, age 90, passed away peacefully June 10, 2007 while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 9, 1916 in Murray, Utah to John and Mary Kochvar Nucich.
Married Paul Pappas Sr., Aug. 13, 1935 in Hiawatha; he died Aug. 10, 1975.
Member of the Greek Orthodox Church, where she was a devout follower of Jesus in her heart. She was a lifelong resident of Hiawatha and Price. Annie was a loving mother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survived by her son, Louis (Betty) Pappas, Price; daughter, Patricia (Herbert) Richardson, Mesquite, Nev.; daughter-in-law, Shirley Pappas, Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Rose Bartlett, Coal Hill, Ark., Josephine Buttrey, Helen Nucich, Alice Nucich, all of West Jordan, brother, Albert Nucich, Detroit, Mich.; four grandchildren, Paula (Scott) Cooper, Troy (Carla) Pappas, both of Dayton, Ohio, Kerry (Heather) Richardson, Tooele, Mark (Solange) Richardson, Ely, Nev.; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Layla, Heather, Trish and Gavin.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Paul Jr.,and Angelo; great-grandson, Taylor Richardson; sister, Mary Shaw; and a brother, Johnny Nucich.

Bryson Carter Jensen
SARATOGA SPRINGS, UTAH-Bryson Carter Jensen, infant son, returned to his loving Heavenly Father, June 9, 2007, at his home due to a heart condition. He was born May 19, 2007, in Sandy, Utah, to Cindi and Bob Ray Jensen. Although Bryson was with us for a short time, his sweet presence will be missed and never forgotten. He is survived by his parents, Cindi and Bob, Saratoga Springs; brothers, Colton Ray and Chance Tanner; grandparents, Lyle and Vicki Gale, Elsinore; Joel Carter Jensen, Emery; and Vivian Taylor, St. George; great-grandmother, Earlene Jorgensen, Richfield; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents. Funeral services will be held on Wed., June 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel. Ron Thomas
PRICE- Ronald Odell Thomas, age 68, passed away June 4, 2007 at home with his family by his side.
He was born May 14, 1939 in Hiawatha, Utah to Levi and Cora Weenig Thomas.
Married Patricia Anderson, Sept. 9, 1978 in Price.
Ron honorably served his country in the US Army 101st Airborne Division, where he was a paratrooper and a Screaming Eagle. He was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a retired member U.M.W.A. Hiawatha Local # 6363.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and he was an accomplished golden glove boxer. Ron shared many great memories with his family and friends, and he always made sure to get in the last words.
Survived by his wife, Patricia, Price; children, Melyssa Sanchez, Wellington; Jason Thomas, Michael (Sasha) Thomas, Matthew (Arianne) Thomas, all of Price; Rick Thomas, Salt Lake City; Cindy (Jerry) Swetland, Kentucky; mother, Cora Thomas, Salt Lake City; two brothers, Bill Thomas, Alaska, Keith Thomas, Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by his father and son David.
Funeral service was held Fri. June 8, 2007, 10 a.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service.
James Basso
PRICE-Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and longtime friend, James Basso, 72, passed away June 7, 2007 while taking his afternoon walk.
He was born Sept. 11, 1934 in Price, to Sam and Josephine Fieurella Basso.
Married Bobbie JoAnn Hayes, later divorced. Married Peggy L. Peterson, Nov. 10, 1987 in Wellington, and they spent almost 20 wonderful years caring for and enjoying each other.
His entire life was spent enjoying the “Carbon County” lifestyle. He attended Carbon High School, worked for Price City, Utah Railway, Carbon School District and never missed a day at Mad Man Basso’s. His work ethic was second to none. But when he wasn’t at work, you could find him with a deck of cards playing poker with his brothers, sisters and friends.
Jimmy loved his trips to Wendover and to the Bellagio with Spinuzzi in Vegas. In the early years he loved to hunt, fish and camp with the family, but in the later years this was definitely replaced by the ring of a jackpot.
Survived by his loving wife Peggy Basso, Price; his children, Debbie (Mike) Turner, Cave Creek, Ariz., Anthony J. (Jessica) Basso, Price, Ross Henrie, Price, Todd (Kristen) Henrie, Wellington, Debbie Diamanti, Idaho, Carol (Kent) Marsing, Price, Kevin Basso, Wellington; brothers and sisters, Mary Christensen, Eleanor Haycock, Frank (Joyce) Basso, all of Price, Henry Basso, Salt Lake City; many loving grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Ray, Joe, Armond, Fred, Angelo and Albert.

Frank Joseph Sacco
1922-2007
Frank Joseph Sacco, 85, passed away June 4, 2007, at the home of his youngest son, Freddie, with whom he had been living for the past 12 years.
Born May 6, 1922 in Fruita, Colo., son of Louie and Mary Federico Sacco. He married Rose Eaquinto on July 24, 1943 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sunnyside, where they lived for 52 years. He worked for Kaiser Steel Coal Company for 43 years and worked hard for the working man as an organizer for the United Mine Workers of America, and President of Local Union 9958 for 12 years. A Pearl Harbor survivor, he joined the Navy at age 17 and was on the U.S.S. Helena, when it was bombed on Dec. 7, 1941. He was a life-long fan of the New York Yankees and often traveled to California to see them play.
Survived by his wife of 64 years, Rose, Sunnyside; sons, Frankie (Toni), East Carbon City; Freddie (Dee), Salt Lake City; and daughter Rosemarie (Jim) Carter, Murray; five grandchildren, Lisa, Frankie, Josh, Ricky and Brandy, and six great-grandchildren; Madison, Samantha, Teegan, Joshua Jr. Frankie Jr., and James.
A private service was held on June 7, 2007, at McDougal Funeral Home, West Valley City, officiated by Deacon Fline, St. Ann’s Catholic Church; and graveside services at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City.
Lloyd A. Wilberg, Leah S.Wilberg
Lloyd Austin Wilberg, beloved husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother peacefully passed away at 6:30 p.m. the evening of June 9, 2007 of pneumonia.
Leah Snow Wilberg, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away at 1 a.m. on June 10, 2007 of an accidental fall.
Their love was truly a special love, one that two people in love should strive for. After 66 years of marriage, they never spent time apart. When you were around them, you could see how strong their love was.
Dad was self-employed in coal mining, saw mill, readimix concrete, and trucking businesses. Even in their later years, hard work was something they enjoyed. They devoted much of their time serving in the LDS Temple and in the service to others.
Mom was an immaculate homemaker with many talents, which she shared with everyone she knew. Wonderful homemade meals were ever present and there was always room for one more at the table.
Mom and dad’s example of unselfish giving leaves us with a model to follow.
They both were preceded in death by their parents, Cyrus and Eliza Wilberg and Grant and Lillie Snow. They are survived by two sons, Reece (Joan) Wilberg and Drew (Dolly) Wilberg.
Dad had three brothers who preceded him in death, Lamar Wilberg, Kenneth Wilberg, and Ted Wilberg. He is survived by two sisters; Cloe Williams and Ruby Daniels. Mom is survived by three sisters, Marjorie Moffitt, Maude Killpack, and Sylvia Scow. They have 10 grand children, 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
The family extends a special thanks to neighbors, friends, and extended families for the love and friendship that was shown. Also, a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and hospital staff of Castleview Hospital who attended so lovingly to the needs of our mom and dad, Lloyd and Leah Wilberg.
Funeral Services will be Thurs., June 14, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. at the Castle Dale Stake Center, 33 East Main. Visitation will be Thurs., June 14, 2007 from 10:30 a.m.-12 noon at the Stake Center before the services. Internment will be in Orangeville City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
Brandon White
Price-Our “Little Slugger” Brandon James White, age 10, passed away June 6, 2007 while doing what he enjoyed.
He was born Sept. 17, 1996 in Roseville, Calif. to Anthony Richard and Juliet Sanchez White.
Brandon was a student at Creekview Elementary where he was a fun loving, energetic and free spirited boy who was noted as an outstanding runner for his school. He enjoyed sports and was a member of the Carbon WBBA Little League Baseball where he was # 15 for the minor league Indians.
Although his parting was sudden, Brandon’s memory will always be held in the highest esteem by his teammates, coaches and members of the Carbon WBBA.
Brandon enjoyed the outdoors, building paper airplanes and he was everybody’s best friend.
“We love you Brandon and you’ll always be in our hearts.”
Survived by his mother, Juliet White, Price; father, Anthony White, Thornton, Colo.; brother and sisters, Michael White; Anna Sanchez White; Esperanza Martinez, all of Price; grandparents, Dora and Henry Smith, Price; Sylvia White, Porterville, Calif.; great- grandparents, Ramona (Dan) Valdez, Price; and many other loving family members, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brandon was preceded in death by his grandpas Don Sanchez and Paul White; and cousin, Genevive.

Alice Twehous
April 24, 1938 – June 4, 2007
In loving memory of Alice Twehous, wife, mother, and friend. She peacefully passed away in her sleep on June 4, 2007 at 1:22 a.m. She was born on April 24, 1938 in Edgerton, Wyo. and lived out her last years in Grand Junction, Colo.
She will be remembered as our best friend and biggest supporter. Throughout her families’ and friends’ lives, she was always there to lend a hand or give guidance. As a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, she participated in activities to support friends and neighbors.
Alice enjoyed reading, sewing, playing cards and fishing. most of all, though, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She has left behind her husband Gene Twehous, three daughters, Laura Johnson, Peggy Payne, and Dori Reynolds, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild along with two brothers, five sisters, their families and friends. We will truly miss her.
A rosary service was held Fri., June 8, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the Callahan Edfast Mortuary Chapel, 2515 Patterson Road, Grand Junction, Colo. 81505, followed by a Memorial Mass was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church , 330 White Avenue, Grand Junction, Colo. on Sat. June 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m.

LaNelda Brown Collette
On June 10, 2007, LaNelda Rae Brown Colette was once again united with her eternal companion. She was born Aug. 23, 1931 to Vernon and Rhoda Williams Brown in Koosharem, Utah. She married the love of her life, Frank Edward Colette, Oct. 10, 1949 in Sunnyside, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They were a spectacular couple. Frank died May 29, 1993. LaNelda was a devoted member of the LDS Church, working in the Manti Temple. She was famous for her cooking and was an expert seamstress. She was never happier than when she was entertaining and cooking. LaNelda was a superb wife, mother, homemaker and grandmother. She and her husband made their home in Dragerton and Columbia, Utah; Carlsbad, N.M..; Oakland, Md.; St. Clairsville, Ohio; Terre Haute, Ind.; Hazard, Ky.; Evansville, Ind.; and finally settled for good in Castle Dale, Utah. She is survived by her children: Diana (Doug) Litster of Salt Lake City; Debbie (Ritchie) Hibbert of La Grande, Ore.; Perry (Jackie) Colette of Pleasant Grove; and Tab (Cynthia) Colette of Ivins. She is also survived by her sisters: Ella Dean Hunter of East Carbon; Janice (Denny) Sereano of Knoxville, Tenn.; Mary (Tom) Boatwright of Washington; her brothers: DeLoss (Barbara) Brown of Carlsbad, N.M.; and Lonnie (Diane) Brown of Layton; and her sisters-in-law Marcy Boss of Delta, Colo.; and Phyllis Colette of Paonia, Colo. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sat. June 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Castle Dale Stake Center. A viewing will be held prior to the services at 9 a.m. Interment will be at the Castle Dale Cemetery. Arrangements for floral deliveries can be made through Price Floral.
