Members of the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. the Emery County Jeep Posse and the emergency technicians from Huntington ambulance responded to the scene of a riding accident in the Bull Hollow area on Nov. 20.
Gary Pluta, 49, was horseback riding on the morning of Nov. 19 in the area with a friend when his horse fell over backwards onto Pluta and the saddle horn hit into him. Pluta’s unidentified friend walked out of the area at daylight on Nov. 20 and called for help.
After responding to the scene life flight was called in to assist and the helicopter was able to land near the injured man and transport him to the Utah Valley Medical Center for treatment of internal injuries.
