The request for statements of qualifications is going out for the Millsite Golf Course expansion project. Ferron City will then create a short list of qualified contractors and request they submit proposals for the project. The contractor will be selected using a best value process.
Course manager Jordan Leonard said the city’s plan is to begin construction in July and have the back nine ready to play by fall of 2009. During the construction phase of the expansion project, play on the existing nine holes will not be affected.
Millsite is located four miles west of Ferron on Canyon Road near Millsite Reservoir. Green fees are $10 for nine holes, and the cart rental fee is $5 per person for nine holes.
It is a soft spike only course and gift certificates are available.
Leonard is also available for lessons and during the summer, clinics are held for the youth.
