ELMO-Kerry B. Nielson passed away Aug. 14, 2008, at the age of 58, at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer which he fought until the end. He was born Aug. 4, 1950, in Price, Utah to Clair T. and Beverly Tuttle Nielson. He married Vickie Nourse on Aug. 8, 1969 in Price, Utah, Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on April 8, 1988.
Kerry enjoyed being in the outdoors especially with his family, he loved Joe’s Valley, horseback riding, four-wheeling, rock hunting, and his yearly hunting trips. He was a member of the LDS church and worked for Utah Power up until his retirement. He will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather.
Survived by his wife Vickie, and children: Troy C. (Nicky) Nielson of Elmo, Stephanie (Wayne) Huntsman of Ferron, Stacie (Allen) Jensen of Castle Dale, and Rebecca (Chad) Norton of Huntington, mother: Beverly Nielson of Huntington, two brothers: Ken P. (Lynell) Nielson of Huntington, Chris “Bettos” (Merilyn) Nielson of Orangeville, and sister: Shelly (Lewis) Gilpin of Orangeville and 10 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by father: Clair T. Nielson, father-in-law: Leon J. Nourse, grandparents, Fred and Louise Tuttle.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Aug. 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Elmo LDS chapel (199 East Main). A viewing was held on Monday Aug. 18, 2008, 6-8 :00 p.m. at the Elmo LDS ward and Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary
