Huntington City
Huntington City secondary water schedule. There will be no watering from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Even numbered houses and lots will water Monday and Thursday. Odd numbered houses and lots will water Tuesday and Friday. Churches, schools, mobile home parks, cemetery, ball fields and city park will water Wednesday and Saturday. Absolutely no watering on Sunday. Anyone not following the water schedule or wasting water will be subjected to penalties. 1st offense-warning, 2nd offense-citation, 3rd offense-loss of secondary water for season.
Summer Swimming Pool Hours
Castle Dale City swimming pool summer schedule will go as follows.Aquasize: Mon., Wed., Fri. 5:30-6:30 a.m., Mon.-Fri. 7:30-8:30 a.m.; Laps: Mon., Wed., Fri. 6:30-7:30 a.m., Tues. and Thurs. 5:30- 7:30 a.m.; Family Night: Mon. 7-9 p.m.; Open Swim: Mon.-Sat. 12- 7 p.m. For more information call the pool at 381-5298. The pool will be closed on July 4 and 24.
Recreation Center Summer Hours
Emery County Recreation will be opening up the Recreation Center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week during the summer. This will be open to children from Elementary to Jr. High School age beginning on June 4. Ping pong, Basketball, foosball, darts and board games will be available for children’s use. Ferron Memory Afghan
Old Mill Camp is selling Ferron Memory Afghans. For a limited time, through July 4 they are available at a reduced rate. They are selling these afghans to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the settlement of Ferron. They contain historical images as well as current Ferron sites. These afghans make wonderful gifts. Miss Elmo
The Miss Elmo pageant will be held this year on June 28 at Canyon View Junior High at 7 p.m.
Emery Cheerleaders Car Wash
The Emery High School cheerleaders will be holding a car wash on July 4 after the parade at Castle Service in Huntington from Noon-4 p.m. Contact Tiffany Sorenson at 381-2413.
Blood Drive
Emery Telcom will be sponsoring a blood drive on June 28. Blood donations will be taken, by appointment only, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the business office located at 455 East Highway 29 in Orangeville. To set up an appointment, please contact Sue at 435-748-2223.
Quail Unlimited
Castle Valley Chapter Quail Unlimited will be holding a dinner and auction on June 29 at the Museum of the San Rafael. Social hour will be held at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the dinner and auction. Clinic For Woman
Southeastern Utah District Health Department is offering a clinic for women between the age 40- 64. Get a private check-up by a female provider. Get a pap test and breast exam. Receive a free mammogram voucher. Women must meet age and income guideline to qualify for a free exam and mammogram. For more information call 381-2252.
Brunch at Castle Dale
Utah Daughters of Pioneers will be holding a brunch on June 27 at the Castle Dale City Park. The event will start at 9:30 a.m. for the officers and 10:30 a.m. for the brunch. Sponsored by the Emery Company. For more details contact Karen Huntsman at 381-5445.
Free Immunizations
The Green River Medical Center is offering free immunizations for adults on June 27 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. They will have the following immunizations, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus. Quantities are limited, first come first serve. For an appointment call 564-3434.
Book Discussion Group
The Utah Humanities Council Book Discussion Group is looking for new members. You are invited to come to their meeting on July 1 at 5 p.m. at the Community Center in Green River. They will be discussing “And then there were none.”
Western Paint Out
Come and paint the beautiful San Rafael Swell, the scenic Manti-LaSal or anything in between. Not a contest, just a chance to show and sell your work. The county will purchase their favorites. Check in and registration is July 25 from 3-7 p.m. at the Emery County Fair Park. Paint Friday and Saturday anywhere in Emery County. ATV Course
Utah’s Off-Highway Vehicle Education Program is gearing up for the July 4th Celebration. There will be a course on June 26 at 7 p.m. at the Emery County Recreation Center.
There will be a charge for the class. The course will teach people from 8 and up to ride ATV’s legally and safely.
To legally ride on public lands kids 8-16 years old are required to pass the course. Pre-registration is mandatory.
You can sign up for the course, pick up your test study booklet and pay your fee at the Emery County Recreation Center Office, 75 South 400 East (near the rodeo grounds) in Castle Dale. For more information or questions contact Mark at 381-5493.

The booklet, “A Helping Hand: The Resource Guide for People with Caner, ” is available in its newest version by calling 1-800-813-HOPE or on CancerCare’s website at www.cancercare.org. The guide lists national and regional organizations that offer information; education and support services; programs that provide free medication; and commercial outlets for products. Local resource information can connect you with services such as transportation, financial aid, hospice and home care.
Car Seat Safety Check
There will be a car seat safety check on July 3 at Hometown Market in Huntington from 3-6 p.m.

Relay For Life
The American Cancer Society will holding their annual Relay For Life on July 12 -13 at the Emery High track. These are the following events and times; welcome, 6 p.m.; introduction of survivors, 6:15 p.m.; speakers, 6:30 p.m.; parade of teams, 7 p.m.; entertainment, 7:15 p.m.; luminary ceremony, 9:30 p.m. There will also be a walk under the stars, activities and food.
