Huntington City
Huntington City secondary water schedule. There will be no watering from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Even numbered houses and lots will water Monday and Thursday. Odd numbered houses and lots will water Tuesday and Friday. Churches, schools, mobile home parks, cemetery, ball fields and city park will water Wednesday and Saturday. Absolutely no watering on Sunday. Anyone not following the water schedule or wasting water will be subjected to penalties. 1st offense-warning, 2nd offense-citation, 3rd offense-loss of secondary water for season.
Summer Swimming Pool Hours
Castle Dale City swimming pool summer schedule will go as follows.Aquasize: Mon., Wed., Fri. 5:30-6:30 a.m., Mon.-Fri. 7:30-8:30 a.m., and Tues.-Thurs. 8-9 p.m.; Laps: Mon., Wed., Fri. 6:30-7:30 a.m., Tues. and Thurs. 5:30- 7:30 a.m.; Family Night: Mon. 7-9 p.m.; Open Swim: Mon.-Sat. 12- 7 p.m. For more information call the pool at 381-5298. The pool will be closed on July 4 and 24.
Recreation Center Summer Hours
Emery County Recreation will be opening up the Recreation Center on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each week during the summer. This will be open to children from Elementary to Jr. High School age beginning on June 4. Ping pong, Basketball, foosball, darts and board games will be available for children’s use. Heritage Days Rodeo Queen
Heritage Days Rodeo Queen contest will be held June 9 at 4 p.m. at the Huntington Arena. There will be three age groups. For more information contact Cathy Gunter 687-2970.
Health Career Camp
Attention high school students looking for health care careers! Utah AHEC is presenting a 3-day camp at SUU on June 10-12. An affordable three days of on-campus housing, meals, looking at career options, profession skills, science experiments, and social activities, interacting with local health care providers and college students is available by registering now. Summer School
If your child has failed the following classes, they may want to consider summer school: career guidance, writing, health, novels, American Government and Law, modern civilization, U.S. Studies, biology, applied math, algebra 1 and geometry. They can receive school credit for these classes. The cost will be $100 for as many classes as you want to take. For more information contact, Tom Hansen at 653-2410.
Spanish Trail Rodeo
The Spanish Trail Rodeo will be held in Ferron on June 7 and 8 starting at 8 p.m. Mutton bustin and steer riding will start at 7 p.m. Steer riders must sign up ahead of time. Local entries and early sign ups contact Boe Taylor 687-9135.
Fund Raiser for Rick Dotson
An auction and dinner will be held on June 8 at the Cleveland Elementary, for the benefit of Rick Dotson. Who has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma skin cancer. There will be entertainment by the Val Jensen band. Cash donations will be accepted at Zions bank. Hershey’s Track Meet
Hershey’s Track meet will be held on June 7 at 5 p.m. at the Emery High School track. This meet will qualify you for the regional meet in Spanish Fork on June 19. Those born from 1988 -1993 are eligible to participate. You can participate in three events. for more information call Todd at 748-5304.
Kurt Bestor Benefit Concert
Emmy Award winning composer and musician Kurt Bestor will perform a benefit concert entitled “An Evening with Friends” for the Paradigm Concert Series on June 8 at 8 p.m in the All Saints Episcopal Church, 1710 Foothill Drive, Salt Lake City. Also appearing will be Paradigm concert musicians Daron Branford, Kelly Parkinson, Meredith Campbell, Joel Rosenberg, Cathryn Manning and Julie Zumsteg. To reserve tickets call 947-0526.
Utah Archaeological Society
The Utah Statewide Archaeological Society (USAS) will hold its annual statewide convention on June 7-9 at the Antelope Island State Park in Davis County. The public is welcome to attend but both USAS members and nonmembers must preregister in order to get discounted state park entrance and group camping fees and meals. Utah Arts Council’s Artist Resource Center
The Center will host a free workshop for visual artists on June 11 from 6-8 p.m. Tyler B. Ayres, attorney at Quintana and York will discuss copyright issues, registration, contracts and other various legal concerns for artists. Come prepared because he will be here to answer any legal questions you might have concerning your artwork. The workshop will be held at the Artist Resource Center (in the south end of the Rio Grande Depot) at 310 South Rio Grande Street (455 West). No registration required. Pioneer Theatre Presents
Pioneer Theatre Company presents “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” by Dale Wasserman, based on the novel by Ken Kesey. It will be held on May 29- June 15.
Elam Classic Tennis Tournament
Elam Classic Tennis Tournament is holding their 42nd annual Men’s Pro Invitational. It will be held on June 14-16 at the Bookcliff Country Club tennis courts, 2730 G. Road, Grand Junction, Colo. Admission is free. For more information call 970-242-2515.
Volunteers for Utah Arts Festival
The 26th annual Utah Arts Festival is looking for approximately 1,000 volunteers to assist with this year’s celebration. Blood Drive

Band Uniforms Needed
Former or current Emery High Band members who have band uniforms or parts of uniforms or instruments are being asked to return these things to the high school so an inventory can be made. Contact Reed Fehlberg at 687-2508. The marching band will be practicing beginning June 10 at 7 a.m. Uniforms can be taken to the high school between 7-9 a.m. on the days the band practices. The first marching performance will be at Orangeville Day on June 15.
Little Britches Rodeo
The Little Britches Rodeo will be held on June 22 at the Castle Dale Arena beginning at 7 p.m. for children ages 16 and younger. Events will include: jr. bull riding, steer riding, calf riding, sheep riding, barrel racing, pole bending, chicken chasing and a calf ribbon pull. Western Paint Out
Come and paint the beautiful San Rafael Swell, the scenic Manti-LaSal or anything in between. Not a contest, just a chance to show and sell your work. The county will purchase their favorites. Check in and registration is July 25 from 3-7 p.m. at the Emery County Fair Park. Paint Friday and Saturday anywhere in Emery County.
