AARP Driver Safety Program
AARP and Emery County will conduct a driver safety program April 8-9 from 1-5 p.m. at the Emery County Courthouse on Main Street. This course is newly revised and updated. It is for drivers over 50 years of age. There are no tests given and additional incentives for taking the class may be offered through your insurance carrier. Cost is $10. Tax Rebate Checks for Seniors
To help clear up some confusion for seniors, Mark Justice gives this advice. The IRS will be sending economic stimulus rebate checks to qualifying persons this year. To qualify to receive that money, a person must file an income tax return. If you don’t normally file because you are not required, his office will file your return at no charge. To do so you need to have your pension, social security, interest and dividend statements available. Call for an appointment 435-687-2403.

Easter Sunrise Service in Ferron
On Easter Sunday, a Sunrise service will be held at First Baptist Church in Ferron followed by breakfast potluck. The service will be at 7:30 am. An Easter program and service will be held at 10:30 am. Come celebrate Christ’s resurrection with us.
Bookcliff Historical Society Open House
Bookciff Historical Society will hold an open house on April 12 at the newly acquired building located on Whitmore Drive next to Shepherd’s Video in East Carbon. Huntington Elementary Book Fair
Huntington Elementary PTA will host a book fair on March 26 from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and March 27-28 from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Parents and pastries will be held on March 28. Come and eat breakfast with your students.

Clean Sweep in Ferron
Annual spring clean up. Meet at the mayor’s park March 29 at 9 a.m. Donuts and juice provided. Bring rakes, shovels, gloves and push brooms. Work in your neighborhood or help with a service project. Bring your family and friends. Meet your neighbors and have fun. Free garbage bags.
Castle Dale Egg Hunt
Castle Dale’s Easter egg hunt will be held March 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Cheddar Field for children ages 1-12. Parents are welcome to watch. Your child must be able to walk on their own to participate. There will be activities for non-walking children. The Easter bunny will be there with a few games by the youth city council.

The Huntington Easter Egg hunt will be held March 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the ball complex.
Food Handler’s Classes
Food handler’s classes will be held at the SEUDHD, 25 West Main, Castle Dale on the following dates: March 27, April 17, May 22, and June 19. Classes will be held at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. For more information call 381-2252.
