The town of Cleveland once again rallied around one of their own at the recent benefit for Rick Dotson. The benefit was held on the evening of June 8. A roping event had been held a week earlier to help with the fund raising effort. Rick has melanoma skin cancer and is currently undergoing treatments at the Huntsman Center. The activities this evening included an auction and dinner. A raffle was held and Dan Hunter won a rifle and Clarence Wall won the cedar chest. The favorite event among the youngsters present was the cake walk as they went around and around until all the cakes were gone. All items for the auction and raffle were donated by individuals and businesses. The combined efforts of the roping and the benefit have provided approximately $22,000 to help with Rick’s medical bills.
