Stan went to be with his father in Heaven after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.
Stan was born on March 17, 1933 in Des Moines, N.M. to Evelyn Marie Henry Roberts and Stanley Warren Roberts Sr. He was the oldest of three sons. He was preceded by these immediate family members.
Stan had three sons, Rob Roberts of Northern California, Glenn Roberts of Los Angeles, Calif., and his namesake Stanley W. Roberts of Hanksville; wife Elli, and daughters Tanya Roberts of Price, and Wendy Morril of Hanksville, and Colton Roberts of Hanksville. Stan was a great step-dad to Theresia, Debbie and Michale Glaze.
Stan did 20 plus years in the Navy with the last 10 years in the submarine service where he was a corpsman. He was a decorated veteran serving in the Korean War, the Cold War with Russia, and the Vietnam War. He retired in the spring of 1971.
At this time there was a pilot program at the University of Utah for civilian physician assistants. Stan completed the program and was one of the first PAs to work in central Utah. Stan also had a chance to work in Alaska as the PA for the men working on the Alaskan pipeline.
Stan had a lifelong passion for firearms as well as hunting. He turned this passion into a business with several partners along the way. Stan would guide people from all over the USA as well as a few from other parts of the world. He would lead these people to trophy deer, elk and mountain lion. Stan started to collect firearms while still in the Navy and made this passion into a lifelong business of making custom rifles and some of the best custom stock work in Emery and Carbon counties and beyond.
Stan met the love of his life Dona Ralphs, and on March 16, 1999, they were married. Stan and Dona spent the last 10 years traveling and enjoying each other. Stan was a great step-dad to Camille, Denise and Michael Winston Taylor.
Stan was a great mentor to lots of young men in this area. Teaching good working ethics as well as a great game of pool. You know who you all are.
In the spring of 2007, Stan became the 200th recipient of the LVAD (left ventricle assist device). This gave Stan 18 more months with his family and to study the Bible doctrine he loved so much.
Stan was called home to be face to face with the Lord in a place of “no more pain, no more sorrow, the things of old have passes away” in the early morning hours of July 11, 2008.
