PRICE – Our beloved sister, aunt and dear friend, Melba Flemetakis Ardohain, age 89, passed away peacefully Aug. 23, 2009 at Silverado Senior Living in Salt Lake City.
She was born Dec. 23, 1919 in Kenilworth, Utah to Bill and Klea Vouros Flemetakis.
Married Mike Ardohain, Jan. 18, 1957 in Price, Utah; he died Dec. 16, 1963.
Melba was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. She was a longtime resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School. She retired from U.S. Steel Horse Canyon Mine where she worked in the office. Melba enjoyed the comforts of her home and doing needlework. She was a wonderful neighbor, friend, and her generosity will be long remembered.
Survived by her sister, Helen (Keith) Dillard, Holladay, Utah; sister-in-law, Bobbie Flemetakis, Las Vegas, Nev.; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Ann (George) Milovich, Pina (Al) Veltri; brother, Nick Flemetakis; and beloved nephew, Herb Davis.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff at Silverado Senior Living for their hands on care of Melba.
Funeral service, Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, 1 p.m., Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Trisagion service, Tuesday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street. Family will be at Mitchell’s Tuesday and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.
