John Kendall Wickman, age 71, died at his home on May 9, 2009. He was born July 21, 1937 in Castle Dale, Utah, to Neldon and Grace Wickman. He married Connie Price on May 2, 1959.
John worked for many construction companies and on several projects including the Joe’s Valley Dam and the CCandH Canal. He later started his own company, Sinbad Construction, along with his wife and son.
His greatest joy was being with his family while camping, fishing, riding dune buggies, and sitting by the campfire. He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed sharing it with everyone. His favorite place was his property in Joe’s Valley. He had many friends who shared a lot of great times with him. He is the reigning horseshoe champ of Joe’s Valley.
John is survived by his wife Connie; children: John David (Katie) Wickman, Orangeville, Suzy Iorg, Orangeville, and Michelle (Blaine) Jensen, Cleveland; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters: Neldona (Wallace) Baldwin, Janet (Jack) Magnuson, Castle Dale, and his best friend Claude.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Craig and David.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Orangeville LDS Chapel. There will be a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Orangeville City Cemetery.
Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
