Iris June Henderson age 76, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009 in West Jordan, Utah. She was born June 17, 1933 to William and Hellen Benner in Grover, Colo. Iris married Otha B. Henderson in Keota, Colo., October 1951; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Iris was the second of three children, she grew up in Keota, Colo. where she met her future husband Otha, after they married they lived in Cannonville, Utah, Lark, Utah, and of most recently Huntington, Utah. Together they enjoyed traveling, fishing, and doing senior citizen activities. Iris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sang in the church choir, was a senior citizen volunteer, and played in the Huntington senior citizen band. Iris loved to embroidery, do crossword puzzles, and spend time with friends and family, she especially loved playing with her two grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Otha B. (Natalie) Henderson Jr. of Herriman, Utah, two grandchildren; Amaya and Kalei, one sister Wilma Dutton of Panguitch.
She is preceded in death by her husband Otha B. Henderson; Oct. 20, 1991 and brother Gerald Benner.
Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Huntington LDS Third Ward Chapel (240 North Main). A viewing was held Saturday, prior to the services 8:45-9:45 a.m. at the church. Interment was in the Cannonville Cemetery; burial at 4:30 p.m.
