The Emery County Cancer Resource Center will hold an open house on Feb. 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The center, located at near Boyd’s Pharmacy at 25 West Main in Castle Dale, will provide a central location for Emery County residents to obtain information on a variety of American Cancer Society programs.
The creation of the resource center was due in large part to a $3,000 grant received from Relay for Life, which helped the center obtain materials. The Emery County Commissioners donated a computer to the center and Emery Telcom donated Internet service to the center.
During the open house the center will have speakers on the subjects of cancer prevention, early detection, the fit for life program, and the variety of services the center will be able to provide.
