Cleveland Town Rabies Clinic


Cleveland Town will sponsor a Rabies Clinic on Jan. 24 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Cemetery Storage Building, 200 North 600 East in Cleveland. Dr. Griggs will be the vet this year. All dogs are required to have a current rabies shot before they can be licensed for the new year. All dogs must be licensed by March 1. Dog licenses are $5 for spayed or neutered, $15 if not. All dogs owners are encouraged to take advantage of this clinic. This will be the only clinic held this year. Late fees will be assessed after March 1.

Wild Horse Adoption


The Sulphur wild horse adoption will be held Jan. 24 at the Delta Wild Horse and Burro Facility, 600 North 350 West, Delta. Silent bidding will begin at 8 a.m. on Jan. 22 and close Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. Viewing is Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information call 435-864-4068. 435-979-2180, 435-865-3088, or visit www.ut.blm.gov.

Emery Town Rabies Clinic


Emery Town will hold a dog vaccination clinic Jan. 24 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Emery Town Community Center located a 76 North 100 West, Emery. All dogs must be licensed by March 1. A current rabies certificate is required to purchase a license. Licenses may also be purchased at the clinic. For further information call the town office at 286-2417.

Master Gardener Classes


Utah State University Extension will present a series of 10 master gardener classes which will run from Jan. 29 through April 2. Classes will rotate between Castle Dale and Price. Topics will include irrigation, soils, fertilizer, plant diseases, insects, weeds, and pruning. Cost is $50 for one year of classes, or $80 for two years (20 classes). Valentine Carnival


The 14th annual Huntington Elementary PTA Valentine Carnival will be held on Feb. 13 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Huntington Elementary gym. Tickets will be 10 for $1. There will be food, games and fun. There will be a craft sale and bake sale. Games will include: fish pond, cake walk, RJ the Clown, football toss, coin toss, pop game, face painting, treasure hunt and much more. Everyone welcome.

Huntington City Dog Licenses


The Huntington City 2009 dog licenses are now due. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be presented before license can be issued. Deadline for dog licenses is March 1. Dog licenses may be purchased at the Huntington City Hall or at the rabies clinic which will be held at the Huntington City Fire Station on the following dates: Jan 24: 9:30 a.m.-noon (Brett Griggs D.V.M.), and Feb. 21: 10 a.m.-noon (Glen Jensen D.V.M.).

Li’l Abner Cancelled


Due to circumstances beyond our control Emery County Community Theater will not be presenting Li’l Abner this season.

CEU’s Fifth Annual High School Art Competition


This competition will be held in Gallery East on the College of Eastern Utah campus in Price from Jan. 7-24. All artists of high school age (14-18 years old) are welcome to participate, including public high school students, home-schooled students and students attending private schools. They need not be enrolled in an art class to participate. An artist reception will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Jan. 16. Awards will be announced at the reception. OHV Land Use Rally at State Capitol

Orangeville Rabies and License Clinics


Orangeville rabies and license clinic will be held Feb. 21 at the fire station from 10 a.m. to noon. All dogs need to be licensed in the city, house dogs and outside dogs. The deadline for licensing is March 1.

Contest Welcomes Would-be Authors


Local author and parenting expert Wendy Green is working on a book aimed at helping parents teach their children about money, life and success.
