PRICE – Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Tony Beacco, age 83, passed away peacefully Sept. 3, 2009 at Castleview Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Feb. 17, 1926 in Kenilworth to Batista and Filomena Mongiat Beacco.
Married Emma Perri Oct. 29, 1949 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Helper.
Tony was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. He was a proud member of the U. M.W.A. District 22, Stella D’America Italian Lodge # 77, Slovenian Lodge, and Price Elk’s Lodge # 1550.
After his stroke, Tony loved walking all over Price and enjoyed visiting with his friends over coffee. One of his greatest pleasures was riding in the car and visiting all the old coal camps in Carbon County. He enjoyed sharing stories of his days in the mine and taught many family members how to lay block. In his earlier years, he enjoyed riding herd with his brother-in-law Angelo Perri and the Sacco Brothers. Tony loved to hunt and camp with his extended family. Above all Tony loved his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his loving wife, Emma Beacco, Price; daughters, Brenda (Mike) Counsil, San Jose, Calif.; Judy Beacco, Price; brother, Louis (Kaye) Beacco, Negaunee, Mich.; grandsons, Michael A. (Valarie) Counsil, Sean J. (Rosa) Counsil, both of San Jose, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Carol Beacco, Price; Marian (Joe) Matson, Salt Lake City; three great-grandchildren, Antonio, Alyssa, and Aleigha Counsil.
Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tony J. Counsil; brothers, Domenic and John Beacco; and sister, Mary Beacco.
Funeral Mass, Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, 10 a.m. Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church.
Vigil Service, Monday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Monday and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Mt. View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions to Notre Dame Building Fund 185 North Carbon Avenue, Price.
