PRICE-Our dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Mitchell Bikakis, age 87, passed away suddenly Sept. 24, 2009 at Castleview Hospital in Price.
He was born July 13, 1922 in Sunnyside, Utah to Charles and Katherine Ninos Bikakis.
On Feb. 8, 1947, he married his beloved Dee Spanogians in Price.
Mitch was a member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Price. He was a staunch supporter of many church functions and one of the co-founders of the Greek Festival. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a proud member of the VFW. He was also a member of Price Elk’s Lodge #1550.
Mitch was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and in 1987 retired from Ideal Beverages with more than 40 years of service. For years Mitch and the “Coffee Group” gathered at The Greek Streak where they solved many problems over a cup of coffee, and was always delightfully cared for by their hostess and dear friend and honorary daughter Loretta (and granddaughter Naya). Mitch loved treats, and often times mentioned that he never met a dessert that he didn’t like. Everyone will miss his warm embrace and gentle smile.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone at Community Nursing Services for their wonderful care of Mitch.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dee Bikakis; son, Terry Bikakis; daughter, Roselyn (Bill) Barnes, all of Price; three grandchildren, Megan, Glenna, and Thomas Etzel; and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Nick and Luther Bikakis, Helen Zoolakis Flynn, and Kriss Hodges.
Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, 11 a.m. Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
Trisagion service was Sunday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family was at Mitchell’s Sunday and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends are welcome daily.
