As a faithful member of S.N.P.J. Lodge #689 for 60 years, she always made time for the special gatherings at the Slovenian Home in Spring Glen and especially loved to dance the polka. “Aunt Vi’s” home and yard always reflected her personality within. Whether you were stopping by for a visit or just passing through, her yard truly reflected how vibrant and colorful she was. She was always very positive, caring, youthful and she had a zest for life. Her big smile and embrace could brighten anyones day and she always said “you can have all the money in the world, but without friends you have nothing.” Vi had many many loving and beautiful friends, her two very special friends are Aldine Thomas and Tony Lessar. She loved her nieces and nephews whom she cherished dearly, especially her cousin and sister-in-law Nadine and brother-in-law Henry Skriner. “Vi” had a special love for the children in her life, whether it be the children in her family or the children in the neighborhood. We will love and miss her.

Don’t walk ahead of me
I may not follow
Don’t walk behind me
I may not lead
Walk beside me
And be my friend.
