KENILWORTH – Our loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Thomas William Haycock, age 75, passed away Sept. 20, 2009 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 2, 1934 in Price to Jess and Ruth Mollard Haycock. Married Dian R. Smith, later divorced.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tom was a lifelong resident of Carbon County where he was a truck driver for Savage Brother’s and a retired member of the United Mine Worker’s of America Desbee Dove Mine. He honorably served his country aboard the U.S.S. Cacapon on Midway Island during World War II.
Tom enjoyed his luncheons and visits at the Senior Center in Price. He also loved spending time with his Pug dogs, fishing and hunting with his dear friend Pee Wee.
Survived by two daughters and one son, Virginia (Tylon) Overgaard, Rock Springs, Wyo., Clark (Angie) Haycock, Salt Lake, Gaylene (Bobby) Appleby, Price; sister, Norma Steele, Price; brothers, Clyde (Karen) Haycock, Layton, Jim (Juanita) Haycock, Hanna, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters; and grandson, Chris Appleby.
Funeral service, Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
