Rue Paul Ware

ORANGEVILLE, UTAH-Rue Paul Ware, 78, died Dec.18, 2009 at the home he built in Orangeville, Utah. He was born March 19, 1931 in Mutual, Carbon County, Utah to Samuel Guy Ware and Orlinda Pearl Nelson. He married Nellie Ann Olsen on June 15, 1953 in the Manti LDS Temple. She passed away on Sept. 29, 1979. He married Carol June Miller on Feb. 25, 1984.
He was educated in Emery County schools before attending Utah State University. He later earned a Masters in Education Administration from BYU. He served in the Air Force. He returned to Emery County where he was an educator for more than 40 years. He taught drivers education to every student in the county until he left the high school in 1974. He also taught drafting, electronics, and wood-shop classes.
During the summers he worked for the US Forest Service. He was Vocational Director at CEU, principal of Canyon View Junior High, and Vocational Supervisor in the Emery District. He recently served on the School Board. He served as the mayor of Orangeville and as Emery County Commissioner. He also worked with the Castle Valley Travel Council. Rue loved Orangeville and the mountains surrounding his home. He had a special love for Mary’s Lake. He enjoyed working with his hands building things from wood. He was a master builder. He was instrumental in the building of the Emery High Auditorium.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many positions including high council and bishop. During his service as bishop, the new chapel in Orangeville was approved and built.
He is survived by his wife Carol; daughters; Ruanne (Larry) Leeflang, Lori (Garth) Labrum, Julie (Kent) Wilson all of Orangeville, and Linda Ware, Kearns; step-children Chris Miller, Sandy; Mike Miller, Clarkston, Wash.; Carrie (Mike) McCann, Burlington, N.C.; Terri (Roger) Abbott, Dallas, Texas; Jennifer (Ryan) Lopez, Huntington, Utah, 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother Keith Ware of Orangeville.
Preceded in death by wife, Nell; mother and father, Guy and Linda; brothers Bruce, LaVar, and infant brother Samuel Guy Jr.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the Orangeville First Ward chapel at 12 Noon. A viewing was be held Monday, Dec. 21, at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, 6-8 p.m., and Tuesday, from 10:30-11:45 a.m., prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Orangeville City Cemetery.
