CARBONVILLE- Grandpa Charles (Chuck) William Byrge Sr., age 76, returned home to his Heavenly Father on Dec. 7, 2009 in Price.
Chuck was born to William Riley Byrge and Florida Mae McCloud on April 24, 1933 in Devonia, Tenn. He was one of 12 children.
He married his sweetheart, Colleen Carlson on Nov. 14, 1952 in Price, Utah and they were sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple in September of 1985.
Together they have six children, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He owned and operated Byrge’s Sharpall for 35 years where he gave away more than he took in and spent many hours with his boys. He loved fishing, reading and bowling. He was a die-hard Bronco fan. He was always telling his stories to his children and grandchildren. He loved giving away candy to all of his “kids” at church. He was honored to uphold his many church callings. Chuck and Colleen worked in the Manti Temple for eight years until his illness became too much. They fulfilled a stake mission. He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was looking forward to being in his presence. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Colleen, son Charles (Bev); daughter Linda (Willie) Wilson; daughter Brenda (George) Deeter, son Terry (Margie), his sister Leola (Americo) Callor, his brother Elvin (Bev) Byrge and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great- grandchild.
