Hometown Market celebrates grand reopening

Huntington’s Hometown Market celebrated its remodel with a re-grand opening celebration on June 6. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 10 a.m. with Tom Potter along with his wife Kristen and daughter Brooklyn cutting the ribbon. A coupon for free bags of groceries were given to the first 200 shoppers through the door after the ribbon cutting. Third generation store owner Tom Potter said, “I want to welcome everyone to the ribbon cutting for our grand re-opening after the remodel. We appreciate you coming.”
Potter introduced Cathy Cowley from the Huntington City Council. “We appreciate everyone coming. Hometown Market is a wonderful place to come and shop. When I first moved to Huntington, my husband told me that Huntington was a pretty little place and Hometown Market has helped to make Huntington a pretty little place. We want to thank Tom and his staff for their contribution to Huntington.”
Potter said, “We are happy to present this store to you. It’s a great little store and we hope you feel a sense of pride. We are happy to provide you with a great shopping experience. All of our team members are great and we thank them. Specifically we would like to thank you for your patience during the remodel.”
Potter encouraged everyone to enter the store and shop and then pick-up their free bag of groceries from the Coke wagon outside the store. The first 200 shoppers received a reuseable shopping bag filled with Coke and Pepsi products, bread, Twinkies, paper towels and Frito Lay products. Potter told the shoppers the store was filled with free samples of products and a trip to the deli would pay off with a free ice cream cone. The store is also holding a drawing for a large barbeque and shopping sprees.
“We feel to live up to our name we must grow with the community,” said Potter. “Some have asked why we would make such a substantial remodel in a smaller town like Huntington, and we respond that it is simply the right thing to do for our loyal shoppers.”
The store has a new exterior, but the more impactful improvements are on the inside. New energy-efficient lighting highlights the tremendous variety in meat, produce, grocery, frozen, bakery, deli, and health and beauty items. The new floor and décor also add a fresh look.
“It is exciting for us to offer an enhanced shopping experience to our friends in Emery County,” said Potter. “This is something we have worked hard for and we are excited to offer it to the community.
