Shanon Johnson age 44 died June 29, 2009 due to a battle with melanoma cancer. He was born on Oct. 27, 1964 in Price, Utah to Helen Vanderwood and Norman Johnson. He graduated from Emery High School in 1982. He served an LDS mission to Sacramento, Calif. He married Tara Gale on Aug.21, 1987.
He was a beloved son, father, husband, friend, teacher and coach and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Tara; daughters, Jessica and Jade; son, Brant; mother; Helen Vanderwood (Salt Lake), father, Norman Johnson (California.)
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2 , 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Maeser Stake Center (2745 West 1000 North, Vernal Utah.) Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary and one hour prior to services at the chapel. Burial will be in the Maeser-Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
