The Ferron Fandango was held on May 30 at the Ferron fairgrounds. There was music and vendors throughout the day. The Derryl Perry concert was held that evening at 7 p.m. The concert was also a benefit for cancer patient Dustan Hannabach. The concert raised funds for his treatment. You can still make donations to the Hannabach fund at the local Desertview Federal Credit Unions in Huntington and Ferron.
Organizers considered the event a success because of the quality of the music offered during the day and evening. The attendance wasn’t as big as they would have liked, but those attending were not disappointed. The Perry band played a variety of tunes, both old and new and some original written by Derryl himself.
The organizers wanted to express their appreciation to those who took the time to attend the event and to those who helped make it possible. Karl at Pro-Sound helped with the sound system. The radio stations in Price helped promote the concert, the Forest Service workers who helped with the stage and Sid Swasey and Randy Magnuson for their donations. Organizers would also like to thank Joe Trenery, Ferron City, and Gilly’s for their support.
