ORANGEVILLE, UTAH-Henry Gordon Clarke Jr. age 56 passed away in his home in Orangeville, Utah Oct. 6, 2009. Henry was born Feb. 4, 1953 in Dragerton, Utah to Marjean Bowden and Henry Gordon Clarke Sr. Henry was raised in East Carbon, Utah. He joined the Marines at the age of 17, “because he was tired of being bossed around.” He advanced to the rank of SGT, E-5 and was the youngest SGT in the Marine Corps at that time. Henry loved the Marines and received an honorable discharge on Oct. 4, 1973.
Henry married Terri Justesten mother of Amber Clarke, they later divorced. Henry married Janice George in fabulous Las Vegas on Aug. 17, 1984. They solemnized their marriage in the Manti temple on June 10, 2009.
Henry took pride in education; he earned an associate of applied science at the College of Eastern Utah and a bachelor of science in psychology at Utah State University.
Henry touched many lives as a juvenile probation officer. More than anything Henry loved fishing and camping with his children and grandchildren. He was an amazing fisherman.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Billy Joe and Lee Eden, and Kelly, Kim and Davies Clarke. Henry is survived by his loving wife Janice Clarke of Orangeville, children Amber Gibbs (Brandon) of Heber, Lori Wallace (Jeff) of New Hampshire, Trinadee Grimes (Sam) of Spanish Fork, Stacy Tomsich (Jake) of St. George and Shane and Aiden Clarke (Karen) of Salt Lake City, 10 grandchildren, siblings, Pat Hill (Paul) of Price, Sue Ann Naranjo (John) of Salt Lake City, Cathy Cook (Van) of California, and Shawnee Preston (Gene) of Orangeville and sister-in-law Bobby Eden, many nephews, nieces and other family and friends whom he loved very much.
Memorial services were Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Castle Dale Eighth North Ward Building, 165 West 800 North. The family received friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the church, and on Friday from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Services were in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
