HOMESTEAD, FLA.-Victor Ray Keele, age 66, passed away Oct. 20, 2009 in Miami, Fla. Victor was born April 16, 1943 in Birmington, Ala. to Weldon Victor and Betty LaRee Grange Keele. He married Carol Ruth Dazley in 1962, in Sandy, Utah.
Victor was raised in Dragerton (East Carbon), Utah, and graduated from East Carbon High School. He was an Air Traffic Controller working as a civilian for the Department of Defense. He was an organizer and active member of PATCO (Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization). He also worked for INEL (Idaho National Engineering Lab) in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was an active Scouter obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Victor enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. He was also an active supporter of University of Utah athletics. He loved his family and grandkids.
Victor is survived by his three children: Victor Napoleon Keele of Rock Springs, Wyo., Cydney Jane Keele of Murray, Utah, and Natalie (Derek) Mann of Eagar, Ariz.; two siblings: Karen (Stephen) Beebe of Tuscon, Ariz., and Kent (Susan) Keele of Castle Dale, Utah; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Betty Keele.
As per Victor’s request, donations can be made to the Huntsman Cancer Center or Primary Children’s Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Emery LDS Ward Chapel (70 North Center, Emery). There was a viewing Monday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
