The Cleveland community celebrated their pioneer heritage with a variety of activities throughout the week. They held a lamb fry, trap shoot, bike races, kids games, horseshoe throwing and a bike ride sponsored by MECCA bike club. The highlight on Saturday was the annual parade with a variety of entries. The young children of Cleveland took to the street first with the kids parade followed by the main event. The grand marshals of the Cleveland celebration were Harry Easterbrook and John Tucker and they rode in the parade in high style in a wagon pulled behind a team of horses. The celebration continues into this week with a family barbeque on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and a sidewalk art contest at the city hall. Also 3 on 3 basketball and a free throw competition will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m. On July 24 a karaoke contest will be held at 7 p.m. at the school. Fireworks will conclude the celebration at dusk on the 24th at the school yard.
