"George Mecham"

WALLSBURG/PRICE-Our family’s brightest star went to join Heaven’s most brilliant twinklers on July 28, 2010. George William Mecham left us much too soon and our hearts will forever be broken without our beautiful Papa here to make us laugh.
George was born Dec. 17, 1945 in Heber City, Utah to Earl and Ruth Sidwell Mecham. He was a little miracle from the start. Born several months premature, small enough to fit inside a shoe box, but big enough to grow into the giant of a man we call Daddy, Papa and Sweetheart.
Papa was a little mischief maker throughout his younger years. Creating many memories that could easily put him in the “Hall of Fame” for the most trouble created but the most laughter made. When Papa met our Mama, he hung up his naughty boots for his husband badge. He knew the second he looked at her “what a cute little Mama she would make.”
He made Gayle Colleen Bradford his forever pal and soul mate. They celebrated their first anniversary by the birth of their son, Joshua, a “chip off the ol’ block.” Papa spent 30 years working in the coal mines. He enjoyed hiking out in his hills, making his next rust project, birdwatching and planting trees and flowers to make the world a more beautiful place…but his true passion was his family. Everything Papa ever did was for us. We will forever be indebted to this legend of a man.
Georgie leaves behind his girl, Gayle; daughters, Jenny (Justin), Vally (Jerry), Shellee (Doug), Heidi; and a son, Aaron; grandbabies, Paisley, Chase, Shiloh, Davis, Cedar and Emeri; four sisters, Mary, Helen, Carol, Dorothy, and his big brother, Walt.
Papas oldest son, Joshua William was there to grab his hand and tell him that 20 years was long enough to be apart.
A celebration of Papa’s life will be held Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Little Bear Campground, Huntington Canyon, at 10 a.m. A viewing will be held Monday, Aug. 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main Street in Price, Utah and at the Little Bear Campground Tuesday one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Wallsburg Cemetery at 4 p.m.
Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share remembrances of George at www.mitchellfuneralhome.bnet
Papa, no one could be more loved than you are. Thank you for memories that will forever be cherished. There is no one in the world as unique as our Papa.
