It’s been a busy time in Emery County. Activities began with the Miss Emery pageant and Royal Tea Party on July 17. The Desertview Pro Rodeo kicked up the dust on July 29-30. Fair days began with free swimming and Coldstone creamery ice cream at the Emery County Aquatics Center. The kids ran around the park gathering up ping pong balls which they traded in for prizes.
On Thursday activities started with the senior citizen band and lunch provided by the Emery County officials. The seniors played bingo and were treated to music by the JazzTet. The Little Miss contestants entertained along with the One Step above dancers. Miss Emery and her royalty entertained. The Firehouse five band performed to crowds on Thursday evening.
The Castle Valley pageant and pioneer village ran from July 28-Aug. 7 along with the Castle Valley lamb fry.
Teens gathered at the aquatics center for a teen pool party and activities including basketball and pizza.
Friday was kids day at the fair with a pet show, baby contest and kids games. Dan Paulus the magician entertained the children in the afternoon.
A talent show and dutch oven contest and the Colgate Country show down rounded out the day.
Saturday began with the fair parade and activities continued in the park with the Hypno Hick and a chili cookoff. The fair ended with the Charley Jenkins concert and the Ironhorse band at the Aquatics Park.
