Dow’s Karate raises food and money

This is the sixth year Dow’s Karate has held a haunted house at the karate school in Ferron.
The Dow’s said, “It started when we had a haunted house in our basement for my husband Larry’s family birthday get together and has grown to a big idea. We have family and friends who donate their time to help set up, scare people and tear it back down. There is a small cost and a donation of a non-perishable item for the Emery Food Bank. This year we split the proceeds between Emery and Carbon County Food Banks.
“This year we donated almost $100 and 23 pounds of food to each of them. In these hard economic times the need is even greater and we are trying to do our part for the local communities. This year’s theme was Psycho Circus complete with chainsaws.”
