Cleveland is getting ready for the ribbon cutting and official opening of their fire station on May 1. The ribbon cutting will take place at 9:30 a.m. The Cleveland Spring Expo will follow from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. This all day event will feature vendors from across the state. The vendors and crafters will set-up inside and outside of the new fire station. Visitors will be able to tour the fire station all day. The firemen will be cooking for the event and any proceeds made that day will go towards the spectacular Cleveland Days firework display.
Another part of the celebration will be entertainment throughout the day. There will be raffle prizes drawn hourly during the day.
The Cleveland Elementary students welcomed the new fire station to town on April 15. Each class from Cleveland Elementary toured the new facility. After the tours the students gathered for a group photo in front of the new fire station along with Jasper the antique fire truck from fire fighting days of the past.
The students prepared a sign of thanks for the contractor and engineer for the project. R&O Construction was the contractor for the fire station.
Carisa Mann and Lynae Christensen are organizing the Cleveland’s Own booth at the Spring Expo. This booth is going to spotlight local crafters and artists. They will bring their items to the booth and organizers will sell the items for them. “We are so lucky to have so many talented people living in Cleveland, and feel this will be a great opportunity to display those talents. We hope this will be a fun experience for everyone and again appreciate your involvement,” said Mann and Christensen. You still have time to get involved with the Cleveland’s Own booth and can contact Carisa Mann 653-2409 or 749-2309 Lynae Christensen 653-2124 or (801) 842-2100 for more information.
Cleveland is excited about spring and is also featuring a Cleveland Clean-up Contest. You must live inside the Cleveland Town limits. Submit a before picture and an after picture of your project or clean-up. The prizes will be first place $300, $200 second place and $100 for third place. Cleveland Town welcomes all of Emery County to come and take a look at their new facility and enjoy the day of food, shopping and fun with them.
