Lowell Lamond Gardner, 78, resident of Cleveland, passed away suddenly Sept. 27, 2010 at Castleview Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1932 in Huntington to George Albert and Irene Johnson Gardner. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and married Sherma Lee Larsen on March 21, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 22, 1954.
Lamond had a great gift and ability in horsemanship. He loved horses and trained them right up until the day he died. He has been a long time member of the Huntington Glee Club and enjoyed rebuilding antique tractors. He was a member of the Cleveland 2nd Ward. His great love in life was his family and he spent countless hours playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lamond is survived by his wife of 57 years; Sherma Gardner, his daughter Pattie (Chris) Hansen, and son Blake (Becky) Gardner all of Cleveland, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters, his parents, and an infant daughter.
Friends may call for a visitation at the Heritage Funeral Home at 620 N. Main Street in Huntington on Wednesday. Sept. 29, 2010 from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Cleveland 2nd Ward Chapel on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at 11 AM with a viewing held from 10:00-10:45 AM prior to the services.
