PRICE- Henry Carl Smith Sr., age 71, passed away June 6, 2010 at his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and many dear friends.
He was born Nov. 8, 1938 in La Jarita, N.M. to Fred and Delphina Sena Smith.
Married Dora Louise Medina on March 12, 1983 in Fairview, Utah.
Henry was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church where he was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus, Eucharistic minister and a volunteer with many church activities.
He was a very talented auto mechanic who enjoyed working as a diesel mechanic in several mines in the area.
Henry enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing bingo, spending time at the senior center and picking up great deals at yard sales. Henry would say hello and greet every passerby with a big smile. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends and will be truly missed by all. His greatest loves were his family and friends in Pueblo, Colo. and Price, Utah. Henry was everyone’s “Buddy” and a friend to all.
Survived by his wife, Dora Smith, Price; two sons, Henry Carl Smith Jr. (Lisa), Pueblo, Colo.; John (Tracy) Garcia, Denver, Colo.; step-children, Stephen (Kelly) Sanchez, Maryville, Calif.; Leanor (Dimetri) Garrett, Sacramento, Calif.; Gary (Jennifer) Sanchez, Reno, Nev.; Juliet White, Reno, Nev.; Elias Abel (Elisa) Mascarenas, Helper, Utah; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Manuel (Francis) Smith, Pueblo, Colo.; Jimmy (Della) Smith, Pueblo, Colo.; Sylvie (Elva) Smith, Wetmore, Colo.; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Cecil, Joe, Orlando, Dave, Ralph, Angie and Jane; sister-in-law, Della Smith; grandson, Brandon White; granddaughter, Genevive Mascarenas, in-laws, Albert and Annie Medina.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, June 10, 2010, 10 a.m., Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service Wednesday evening 7 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell’s Wednesday and Thursday one hour prior to services. Committal service, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
