PRICE-Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nolene “Tilley” Carlson, age 84, peacefully slipped away from the mortal bonds of this earthly life at her home in Price on Saturday, June 26.
The youngest of 11 children, Nolene was born on May 6, 1926 in Marshall, Ark. to James and Maybell Tilley. She married Paul Wesley Carlson in Price on Jan. 20, 1945.
We will miss most her sparkling blue eyes, her smile and her kindness and sweetness. She was an excellent cook and made sure no one ever left her home hungry. She knew how to work and worked for many years as a housekeeper for several families in Price. She loved the outdoors and was a great fisherwoman. She was gifted with a green thumb and her garden and roses were her pride and joy. She never had a bad day. She never complained. She always made the best of whatever came her way.
She leaves behind her children, Pauline (Billy) Crump, St. George, Utah, Glenda (Gene) Ciarus, Moab, Utah, Jerry (Patty) Carlson, Price, Utah, daughter-in-law, Jeanny Speirs, 10 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, her son Byron Speirs, her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Adriana Loaiza and her family who have shown great love and kindness towards her. She loved them as her own. We also wish to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their caring service.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price (680 East 100 South). A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. prior the services at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Cliffview Cemetery in Price. Friends and family may sign the guestbook and share memories of Nolene at www.fausettmortuary.com.
