WELLINGTON- Randy Van Jones, age 60, passed away May 29, 2010 at his home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1949 in Price, Utah to Lynn and Fern Hunsaker Jones.
Married Betsy Terrill Jones in 1969 at Salt Lake City, Utah, they later divorced. She passed away April 20, 2008.
Randy was an archeological tour guide who was an avid outdoors man and survivalist. He was a master storyteller and he loved to tease. Randy was very generous, helpful, and he always made time for the kids. He loved to garden and was a great carpenter. He loved his two birds very much. Randy will be dearly missed by all.
Survived by his mother, Fern Jones, East Carbon; two daughters, Jennifer Barnes, Ivins; Gwendolyn (Kenny) Anderson, Elmo; brothers and sisters, Larell (Carol) Jones, East Carbon; Myrna (Ben) Mead, Nine Mile; Ravenna (Hal) Firth, Price; Kyle Jones, East Carbon; grandchildren, Brock and Katherine Barnes; Tandem, Possum, Maya and James Anderson; cousin, Darwin (Carla) Jones, Helper.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lynn Jones; brothers, Reggie and Joseph Jones; loving step-father, Klell Mecham; son-in-law, Mike Barnes; and good friend, Don Goodfellow.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Rocky Mountain Hospice and the staff at Mitchell Funeral Home.
Memorial service Friday, June 4, 2010, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, Price. Family was at Mitchell Funeral Home one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Huntsman Center.
